The Reds secured a 2-2 draw against Fulham at Craven Cottage last weekend. Crystal Palace on the other hand lost 2-0 to Arsenal at Selhurst Park.
So, both sides have started the 2022-23 Premier League season poorly. Milner has put it on his teammates to respond against the Eagles.
As quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, he told Sky Sports the following: "It's important, obviously home games are always very important on the first one and like you say, to try and build that fortress mentality and winning the games are very important at home.
“It’s not going to be easy, we know that. They obviously didn’t get the three points in their first game either, so for us we have to hopefully have to try and get the performance to where we want it and get the three points.”
Anfield Watch Verdict
Liverpool can't afford to be dropping too many points if they wish to lift the 2022-23 Premier League title come the end of the season.
Manchester City have won four of the past five titles, so they will capitalise on any of the Reds' mistakes.
Crystal Palace will be up for the game. The Eagles will also be looking to respond after a poor showing last week.
But, if Liverpool play anywhere near their best, they should secure the three points. The Reds are a far better side.
There is a reason why Liverpool have won the Champions League and Premier League title in the past few years. Crystal Palace have got nowhere near the aforementioned trophies.
