Former Liverpool player John Aldridge has given his opinion on the club's start to the 2022-23 Premier League campaign.
The Reds have only accumulated nine points from a possible 18. Liverpool challenged for the Premier League title last season, so they are well off the pace at the moment.
Aldridge has given his reasons as to why the Reds are currently struggling.
"In terms of what is going wrong at this moment in time, they’re not scoring enough goals and we can defend better. There are too many injuries and players haven’t started the season right," he told the Liverpool Echo, as quoted by Anfield Watch on Twitter.
"It’s hard when you lose form, to get it back. But they will do that. There are three or four players who have struggled as they have set the standards so high and it’s hard to continue that for all of your career."

Anfield Watch Verdict
Aldridge is spot on with his comments. There are a few reasons why Liverpool have not been at their best so far this season.
But, good teams will find a way to get back on track. Liverpool competed for the quadruple last campaign.
Therefore, we are confident that Jurgen Klopp's team will find a way to make themselves relevant across the 2022-23 campaign.
Liverpool's next clash is against Napoli at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Wednesday. The Champions League group stage clash kicks off at 8:00pm UK time.
It should be an intriguing clash.
