Liverpool very nearly clinched the biggest trophy in English football last season. However, the Citizens finished one-point ahead of the Reds on the Premier League table.
Rodri believes that the 2022-23 title race will also go down to the wire.
As quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, he told the Liverpool Echo the following: “The quality and standard of both teams is unbelievable. You cannot make one mistake when you are fighting for titles against them. It will be the same next season, I am sure.
“They're (Liverpool) so demanding. They're a top team and have great players in every position, like us. It's so intense, whether it's at the Etihad, Anfield, Wembley or any other stadium. The level is so high.”

Anfield Watch Verdict
We completely agree with Rodri's opinion. Both Liverpool and Manchester City are very hard to split.
However, we do believe that the Citizens are the favourites to win the 2022-23 Premier League title.
Manchester City have won four of the past five titles and they have added goal machine Erling Haaland to their team.
So, Pep Guardiola's side will be hard to beat. But, if we have learnt anything over the years, Jurgen Klopp's team will fight until the very end.
Liverpool were very impressive against Manchester City in the Community Shield final last weekend. The Reds secured a 3-1 victory over the Citizens.
Only time will tell if Liverpool are to compete for the 2022-23 Premier League title. We wish Klopp's team all the very best ahead of the new season.
