Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes that the current Liverpool team will be remembered as "immortal" if they manage to win the quadruple.
Ferdinand has claimed that if Liverpool win the quadruple, they will go above any English team.
As quoted by Anfield Watch on Twitter, the 43-year-old told BT Sport the following: "If Liverpool achieve the quadruple then they are immortal, they are above anyone that has played the game in this country.
"This is the best Liverpool team I’ve ever seen. They’re relentless with and without the ball. It’s the way they press teams, the energy, effort, application, you marvel at it.
"Whether they can achieve it remains to be seen. But they’re ticking boxes along the way at the moment.
“They have got to make sure that they fend off any type of complacency, they can’t allow complacency to creep in anywhere.
"(Jordan) Henderson and (Andy) Robertson are two of the lieutenants I think, along with (Virgil) Van Dijk and maybe Trent (Alexander-Arnold) as well. They will control the culture against complacency."
Anfield Watch Verdict
It would be brilliant to see Liverpool win the quadruple. Winning trophies is a difficult task. So, to win four major honours in one season would be nothing short of brilliant.
As we write, the title is very much in City's hands.
