"If it's a two-horse race" - Jurgen Klopp on the Premier League title race

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has given his opinion on the Premier League title race.

Last season, the Reds finished one point behind champions Manchester City. Chelsea secured third-place, but they finished 18 points behind Liverpool.

Despite that being the case, Klopp believes that this season's title race is wide open.

As quoted by Anfield Watch on Twitter, he told Sky Sports the following: "I saw a lot of things in the City game where this was obvious for me and which felt really good. I would be happy if it's a two-horse race and that we just have to be concerned about City but I can't see that to be honest.

"Tottenham look really settled with (Antonio) Conte in there and will be really tough to play against. Arsenal look ready too, but the season is so young."

Anfield Watch Verdict

As things stand, Manchester City are the favourites to win England's top division of football. The Citizens have claimed four of the past five league titles.

Also, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola signed goal machine Erling Haaland ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.

The Citizens have won their opening two games of the top-flight season.

So, they are going to be hard to stop. But, if any side is capable of challenging Manchester City, it is Liverpool.

The Reds have won the two biggest trophies in club football in recent years - the Champions League and Premier League title.

Only time will tell if they are to compete for the biggest trophy in English football this season.
