“I think we have got a really tough run in" - Andy Robertson on the title race

Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson has given his opinion on the 2021-22 Premier League title race.

With seven top-flight games to go, the Reds are one-point behind league leaders Manchester City. With that being the case, Liverpool have everything to play for.

However, Robertson has implied that a lot will have to go right for the Reds if they are to claim the title at the end of the season.

As quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account and the Daily Star, the Scotland international said: “I think we have got a really tough run in, all games are tough in the Premier League especially when you get to the end bit. But we have some really tough games and we need to try to win them.

“We need to be at our best, we need to be better than we were today (last weekend against Manchester City) and if we do that then let’s see where we end up and hopefully we can win something.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Robertson is spot on. Liverpool do have some tough Premier League games coming up.

The Reds will face Manchester United, Everton, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers to conclude the top-flight season.

Manchester City on the other hand will come up against Brighton and Hove Albion, Watford, Leeds United, Newcastle United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, West Ham United and Aston Villa.

You would have to say that Liverpool do have the tougher run in for the title. Jurgen Klopp's side have to play against their biggest rivals (Manchester United and Everton).

Therefore, we fully expect those two sides to bring their A-Game against Liverpool.

But, as we have seen over the years, anything can happen in football, which means that the title is well and truly up for grabs.

It would be nice if former Reds Steven Gerrard and Philippe Coutinho, now of Aston Villa, could do us a favour when they face the Citizens.
