“I think" - Jamie Carragher's prediction in relation to Arsenal clash

Pundit Jamie Carragher has predicted that Liverpool forward Diogo Jota will be left on the bench for tonight's Premier League clash against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The Portugal international is having a decent season for the Reds. Jota has scored 17 goals and registered three assists in 37 appearances.

However, the 25-year-old has not started a Premier League fixture since the beginning of February.

Jota is coming off an ankle injury, which he sustained against Inter Milan at the San Siro back in mid-February. Therefore, the forward is still trying to get back into the swing of things.

With that being the case, Carragher believes that Klopp will bench Jota again against Arsenal.

Carragher said the following during Gary Neville's Instagram video (02:45): “I think Jota will be on the bench, I think he’s on the bench at the moment.

“I think Mane will be through the middle, (Luis) Diaz has got that slot on the left and (Mohamed) Salah. That’s the first-choice front three at the moment, I think Jota’s been a little unfortunate. He got a whack at Inter Milan and he came off and he’s never quite been the same since really.

“He’ll get back in but he’ll have to get used to not always playing every week now."

Anfield Watch Verdict

If Jota is named on the bench against Arsenal, it certainly is not a bad thing. Having a player of his ability waiting in the wings certainly gives the Reds a greater chance of winning the game.

If things are not going well, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp could call upon Jota at any moment.

On another note, we are looking forward to tonight's match. Liverpool versus Arsenal is always a big game due to the size of both clubs.

But, the Reds are in the middle of the title race. The fixture between Liverpool and Arsenal is more important than ever.
