"I think Fabinho comes in" - Rio Ferdinand previews Arsenal clash

Pundit Rio Ferdinand has previewed Liverpool's upcoming Premier League clash against Arsenal.

The Gunners will welcome the Reds to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp dropped Fabinho to the bench during the club's midweek Champions League group stage fixture against Rangers at Anfield.

However, Ferdinand believes that the German will recall the midfielder to the starting XI for the match against Arsenal.

As quoted by HITC, he told BT Sport the following: “I think Fabinho comes in and plays against Arsenal. In defensive positions in midfield, he’s fantastic, been a mainstay, so I don’t see him not coming in and playing.

“Having those four attacking players on the pitch tonight (against Rangers) was perfect. I think Arsenal is a completely different proposition and I think they won’t be able to play as freely and expansively as they did today.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

We would not be surprised to see Fabinho start against Arsenal. It is well known that he is quite a complete midfielder.

Arsenal have been very good in attack this season. They have scored 20 goals in eight Premier League fixtures.

So, Liverpool will need Fabinho to be at his best if they are to stop the free-flowing Gunners.

The Brazil international has struggled in the early stages of the 2022-23 Premier League season. Fabinho has averaged a WhoScored player rating of 6.83.

But, form is temporary and class is permanent.
