Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has recently spoken about the Reds' Premier League title hopes.

Liverpool defeated Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium last night to move within one point of league leaders Manchester City.

The Reds have won their past nine Premier League fixtures, which provides an insight into how well they are currently playing.

With that being the case, Carragher is under the impression that the Anfield faithful believe their side can win the title this season.

"That win (against Arsenal) is absolutely massive," the Scouser told Sky Sports, as quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account. Carragher added: "I think everyone in that away end believes Liverpool will win the league."

Anfield Watch Verdict

We certainly believe that Liverpool can win the Premier League title this season. It is crazy to think that Manchester City did possess a 12-point lead over the Reds not that long ago.

However, the Premier League gets put to one side this weekend for Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp's side will face Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday.

But, the Premier League fixture between the Reds and Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on the 10th of April is the game we are looking forward to.

It could potentially be the title decider. In saying that, there is still plenty of top-flight football to be played after that particular clash.

Therefore, even if Liverpool were to gain the three points against Manchester City, they would still have to perform to a high level to claim the title come the end of the season.

Although, we can't deny that the upcoming fixture between the Reds and Citizens is massive. Everyone associated to the club should be looking forward to that particular match.
