"I really believe that" - Gary Neville's honest verdict on Liverpool

Pundit Gary Neville believes that Liverpool's forwards are better than Manchester City's.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp had Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota at his disposal before the 2021-22 club campaign got underway.

However, the German added Luis Diaz to the club's attack last month. Liverpool signed the Colombia international from Porto for a transfer fee of €45 million.

With that being the case, Neville is confident that Liverpool possess a more talented attack than Manchester City.

“Liverpool, I think, have got the better forward players in their squad and in the team, I really believe that," the former Manchester United full-back told Sky Sports, as quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account.

“You look at Mane, Salah, Firmino, Jota, Diaz and Origi - six players there that really are a massive threat. Three or four of them are out of this world, a couple are world class.

“That makes them a real threat towards the end of the season, and Liverpool have won a trophy [League Cup] already, we saw that at Wembley. They’ve got the bit between their teeth, and you saw Jurgen Klopp’s celebration after that game against West Ham [last weekend] - that was telling.

“We have got a title race, we’ve got two brilliant teams and it will be interesting to see how it plays out.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

There is no denying that some very talented forward players represent Liverpool. Salah, Mane, Firmino, Jota and Diaz have scored 389 goals between them for the Reds.

As supporters, we simply need to sit back and enjoy watching the aforementioned players. It is highly unlikely that we will see a forward line as talented as the one currently representing the club ever again.

Therefore, there is no denying that if the Reds are to win the 2021-22 Premier League title, the attackers will have to play a key role.
