"I love him" - Former Red on 19-year-old Harvey Elliott

Former Liverpool forward Luis Garcia has recently praised Reds midfielder Harvey Elliott.

The 19-year-old has had a reasonable start to his senior career. Elliott has already made 20 appearances for Liverpool's first-team.

However, the Englishman has not always had it easy. Elliott broke his ankle against Leeds United at Elland Road last September.

He missed a total of 30 games for the Reds last season. But, Elliott is back to full fitness.

Therefore, Garcia has implied that he is looking forward to seeing the youngster back in action next season.

As quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, he told the club's official website the following: “I love him to be honest, ever since he arrived in the first-team you could see that he’s there with a lot of hunger. That is now four goals he’s scored, every single time he’s been around the box he’s scored.

"He’s not looking for the top corner or a lob, he’s trying to score and that is important to have a player with that determination and conviction that he can become one of Jurgen Klopp’s first XI. He’s showing me in training (Garcia is touring with the team during pre-season) that he wants to be in that XI.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Garcia's comments regarding Elliott further back up that he is a special talent.

The midfielder should get plenty of opportunity next season. Liverpool play in a number of tournaments.

Who knows how good Elliott could become. If he keeps his head down, the sky could be the limit.

To be involved in Jurgen Klopp's world-class squad at the age of 19 highlights that Elliott could become a staple in Liverpool's senior XI in the years to come.
