It has recently been reported that Liverpool are interested in signing Leeds United winger Raphinha.

With that being the case, pundit Kevin Campbell has given his opinion on the potential transfer.

The former Premier League striker believes that Raphinha would certainly be interested in playing for Liverpool.

But, Campbell does not see where the Brazil international fits in at Anfield.

"I’m sure he won’t want to go anywhere as an impact sub,” Campbell told Football Insider.

“Liverpool is a massive draw for him, of course it is.

“But, he is playing every week at Leeds. That is always the problem when you are a club like a Liverpool.

“It’s hard to keep all of these players happy if they are not playing regularly. They’ve got four players at the top end of the pitch now. They are all top-quality as well.

“Where does Raphinha fit in? It is a tough one.

“Klopp wants to have a strong squad and Raphinha would certainly strengthen it. I just struggle to see where he fits in.”

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

We don't entirely agree with Campbell's take. Yes, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota are all quality players.

Therefore, the aforementioned names might currently be ahead of Raphinha in the pecking order at Liverpool.

But, Salah, Mane and Firmino are all aged between 28-30. That means they are all entering the final phase of their careers.

Raphinha could be a solid long-term investment for the club. The winger is only 24 years old, which means that his career is far from over.

Raphinha is also a very talented footballer. The Brazil international has found the back of the net 11 times and registered nine assists in 41 appearances for Leeds United.

Raphinha has also been averaging a WhoScored player rating of 7.42 in the early stages of the 2021-22 Premier League campaign.

Leeds United's No.10 is valued at £28.8million and under contract until 2024.
