Here's how Liverpool rank in the Premier League injury table. The Reds face Manchester City in one week's time.

Liverpool have their fair share of injuries right now as they prepare for their biggest test of the season. Jurgen Klopp's will take his team to Manchester and the Etihad Stadium next Saturday as they take on the champions.

Manchester City sit top of the league, Liverpool are right behind them in second. It's not exactly an unusual situation after the last few years but this isn't quite the same Reds' side as a few years ago. City, though, arguably aren't either.

Especially as several players will be missing from both teams.

The Reds have long-term absentees in Thiago, Stefan Bajcetic and Andy Robertson. The first two haven't even played this season. Ibrahima Konaté, Joe Gomez and Curtis Jones all picked up knocks before the international break, too.

The Daily Mail have Liverpool joint-sixth in the Premier Leauge's injury table as a result. It's the same position as City, notably, though Pep Guardiola's team may have more than that coming out of the break.

They had eight doubts this week, while Erling Haaland has become a ninth this weekend as an ankle injury ruled him out of Norway vs Scotland. A few of those could be purely precautionary, however.

What's clear is that both Liverpool and City have players battling injuries right now. It will naturally affect next weekend, too, and possibly beyond that.

The Reds face Fulham after City, a team with 'only' three injury worries right now. Then comes Sheffield United - they actually top the table with a troubling nine injuries.

Fingers crossed, then, that Liverpool don't suffer any more as their squad plays out the last of their international fixtures. As things stand, the squad is still a strong one but as City know, that can change quickly.
