"He is Liverpool bound": Former Premier League midfielder reveals what he has heard

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham in recent times.

With that being the case, former Premier League winger Craig Hignett has provided an update on the aforementioned situation.

The 51-year-old has been informed that Bellingham is "Liverpool bound".

As quoted by LFC Transfer Room, Hignett told BBC Radio Merseyside the following: “I think I’ve heard it on good authority and I can’t say where I’ve heard it from, but apparently he has been saying that he is Liverpool bound.

“Whether that is January or whether that is the end of the season isn’t sure yet, but I think, I have it on good authority that it is almost a cert."

Bellingham will be out of contract come the summer of 2025. The Englishman possesses a current market value of €70 million.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Bellingham is a superb talent. The 18-year-old midfielder has scored seven goals and registered 10 assists in 62 appearances for Borussia Dortmund.

Bellingham is also averaging a WhoScored player rating of 7.39 in the early parts of the 2021-22 Bundesliga campaign.

The aforementioned figures highlight that the Englishman possesses talent.

As we have pointed out, Bellingham's career is only just beginning. Who knows how good the youngster could be in the future.

Therefore, we believe that Liverpool would be silly to not at least attempt to sign Bellingham. Only time will tell if the Reds are genuinely interested in the midfielder.
