"He is back again” - Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool forward is back to his best

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp believes that Reds forward Diogo Jota is back to his best.

The Portugal international suffered an ankle injury back in February. Jota was unavailable for three of Liverpool's matches as a result.

However, the 25-year-old has recently returned to action and scored against Arsenal in the Premier League and Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup.

With that being the case, Klopp is convinced that Jota is back to his best.

The German told Liverpool’s official website the following: “What a player, what a boy. This goal (against Forest) was exceptional. It was a good cross from Kostas (Tsmikas), a good ball, but he had to stretch the body to reach it.

“Scoring that goal, obviously massive and it just shows, after the injury he needed a little bit to get back on track but now I hope he is really coming back healthy from the national team (international duty) because he looks like he is back again.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Jota has been a superb signing for Liverpool. The club purchased the forward from Wolverhampton Wanderers for a transfer fee of €44.70 million back in the summer of 2020.

Since then, Jota has scored 32 goals and registered four assists in 69 appearances for Liverpool's first-team.

With that being the case, we have not been surprised to see the Portugal international find his feet post-injury.

If Liverpool are to win both the Premier League and the Champions League this season, the Reds will need Jota firing on all cylinders, as he brings so much to the team.

Therefore, it has been great to see him back in action in recent weeks. We wish Jota and the team all the very best for the remainder of the season.
