"He has the identity of Liverpool" - Former Reds player praises Luis Diaz

Former Liverpool player Fabio Aurelio has spoken about Jurgen Klopp's newest addition to the squad, Luis Diaz.

Liverpool signed Diaz from Porto for a reported fee of £37m + add-ons. At the time it seemed like a decent price for the Primeira Liga's top goalscorer.

Despite not finding his goalscoring boots just yet, the Colombian has shown that he has all the talent needed to become Liverpool's next top player.

Speaking ahead of the Liverpool Legend's match this weekend, former full-back Fabio Aurelio has spoken to Liverpoolfc.com about Diaz.

"I watched some of his games with Porto so when I saw the signing, I imagined he would match perfectly to the team. He has pace, he is very strong one-on-one," said Aurelio.

"What is very evident for me when I see him playing is his character, his desire to play. All of this is helping him to adapt so quickly, in my opinion – he has the identity of Liverpool."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Even though he's only scored two goals in 12 games during his short time at Liverpool, the quality Diaz possesses is easy for everyone to see.

It's only a matter of time before he finds his goalscoring boots in the Premier League. Hopefully, it can come soon as Liverpool have a very hard run-in until the end of the season and we could do with as many goals as possible.

Speaking about Diaz, Klopp said that Liverpool knew immediately that he would make an instant impact and fit in the squad immediately.

“There is a reason why you sign a player," said Klopp. "The reason is the quality he has. The reason is the way that he is playing the game. With Luis, where it has been really special is that when we saw him we knew that he would fit in immediately."
