"Guaranteed to score" - Ben Foster on Darwin Nunez joining Liverpool

Ben Foster believes that Liverpool have future-proofed their attack after signing Darwin Nunez.

Speaking on his podcast, Fozcast, as quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, the veteran goalkeeper praised the Reds for their recent transfer business.

“Liverpool signing Darwin Nunez, I’ve only seen probably what most people have seen, the games he’s played for Benfica in the Champions League and he looks a player, he looks absolutely incredible.

“One thing you’ve got to say about Liverpool, they don’t get many transfers wrong especially big boys, they don’t get many transfers wrong. He’s a striker, a front-three, a left-winger, he looks like he will run his socks off.

“If Liverpool past players they’ve bought in that position are anything to go by, then he’s a sure-fire hit and guaranteed to score a few goals. It’s like they’re future-proofing themselves for the next 10 years.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Nunez is the perfect Liverpool player. He is fast, agile, determined and hungry to succeed. The fact that he is 6'2 is also a huge bonus.

With this new addition, it adds a different dimension to our forward line. In recent years, Premier League clubs have figured out how to nullify our attack and last season we saw that hamper our title push.

After signing Nunez, we now have a different outlet. Instead of just getting the ball to Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah and hoping they can create some magic, we have a player who can hold the ball up.

We also have a player who is great in the air. He is someone who Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson can aim at when they're putting in their trademark crosses.

Next year is going to be very exciting as a Liverpool fan. Jurgen Klopp has a full pre-season with everyone and we could see a system change.

With no Mane, the Reds are going to have to change their style and we're sure Klopp and his coaching staff are already drawing up plans to push this team closer to greatness once again.
