"Got so much talent" - Joe Gomez praises Thiago post-Watford clash

Liverpool centre-back Joe Gomez has said that teammate Thiago Alcantara possesses plenty of talent after the club's 2-0 victory over Watford at Anfield last weekend.

The midfielder's creativity was on show for 90-minutes against the Hornets. Thiago completed 85 percent of his passes and registered three key balls during the aforementioned Premier League fixture.

Post-game, Gomez lauded the Spaniard's quality.

As quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, the Englishman told the club's official website the following: “It's a special team. Thiago is one of many, we (have) got so much talent in this team.

"Sometimes I don't see them (passes), even if you're receiving them, you just get surprised that he comes your way but that is one of his qualities.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Thiago is a world-class footballer. There is a reason why the midfielder has played for the likes of Liverpool, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

Therefore, we aren't shocked when Thiago does something special from the middle of the park. The only real negative aspect regarding the Spaniard is the fact that he is injury prone.

Since joining Liverpool from Bayern Munich for a transfer fee of €22 million back in the summer of 2020, Thiago has picked up a number of injuries.

With that being the case, he has only made 55 appearances for the club's first-team. So, the Liverpool supporters are yet to see Thiago perform on a consistent basis, which is a shame.

But, his time at the club is far from over. Thiago is only 30 years of age and contracted until June 2024.

Hopefully the midfielder can have a good run at things in the coming years. A fit Thiago gives Liverpool a better chance of winning some silverware.

We wish the Spaniard all the best for the remainder of the season.
