Giorgi Mamardashvili has responded on his social media after Liverpool confirmed his signature on Tuesday night.

Liverpool completed the signing of the Georgian goalkeeper for a £25m fee plus potential add-ons with Mamardashvili staying at Valencia during the rest of the season.

The 23-year-old is then expected to join Liverpool ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. Although whether that comes to fruition remains to be seen with Alisson Becker recently, making his intentions clear that he plans to see out the remainder of his contract at the club.

Nonetheless, Mamardashvili is an exciting signing for Liverpool, who will have already endeared himself to the club's supporters with his timely response to the news of his arrival.

Mamardashvili's journey to Anfield has been an incredible story so far. During his youth days at Dinamo Tbilisi, he wasn't even a first choice goalkeeper for the club at academy level.

But he worked hard enough to fight himself into the starting line-up and then even earned a promotion to train with the club's first team at just 16 years old.

After a few loan spells, he was spotted by Valencia scouts and signed by the Spanish giants as a fourth choice goalkeeper. But within a few months, Mamardashvili defied expectations and became the club's first choice.

Since then, he's become one of the best goalkeepers in La Liga, yet he has kept his humility and his response to his move to Liverpool speaks volumes.

The goalkeeper reacted on Facebook with a simple four-letter response: YNWA

It's a reference to the club's famous anthem, You'll Never Walk Alone, and Liverpool fans will surely appreciate the gesture which Mamardashvili has now included in his Instagram bio as well.

The Georgian is clearly excited at the prospect of joining the club, and that enthusiasm is great to see.
