"Find a way to sign Jude Bellingham" - Jamie Redknapp on who the Reds should sign

Pundit Jamie Redknapp believes that Liverpool should make a move for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.

The Reds have been linked with the England international in recent times.

Redknapp is under the impression that Liverpool are short in midfield, which is why he wants to see the club sign Bellingham.

With that being the case, the former Red further added that it's important Liverpool delve into the transfer market sooner rather than later.

"It’s been a difficult start for them (Liverpool). What it’s certainly shown everyone is that they are a little short in midfield," he told talkSPORT, as quoted by Anfield Watch on Twitter.

"They said they are not going to go into the market, but I think they should and try and find a way to sign Jude Bellingham. That would be a brilliant signing for them. He’d be the one.

"Whoever looks after him, I know he’s got a great family unit around him, and they want him to have another year at Dortmund. Which is understandable because he’s done so well there and is learning the game.

"It does feel like it will happen in time that he goes to Liverpool, but sometimes it is a case of needs must. Thiago has already picked up a hamstring injury, and you’ve got James Milner and Jordan Henderson who aren’t young men anymore.

"Sometimes you have to get into the market as you don’t want to fall behind too quickly.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Bellingham is a world class talent. The midfielder scored six goals and registered 14 assists in 44 appearances for Borussia Dortmund's first-team last season.

He also averaged a WhoScored player rating of 7.12 across the 2021-22 Bundesliga campaign.

Bellingham is only 19 years of age. He could potentially play in Liverpool's midfield for well over a decade.

Bellingham is contracted until the conclusion of the 2024-25 campaign. So, the England international will cost the Reds a hefty transfer fee.

Transfermarkt value Bellingham at a whopping £72 million.
