Federico Chiesa has revealed which two Liverpool players he saw first after he arrived at the AXA training centre.

It has been a quiet window for Liverpool with very little transfer activity happening around Arne Slot's first team.

Nonetheless, the Reds could have still pulled off the bargain of the summer with the acquisition of Federico Chiesa for an initial fee of just £10m.

Chiesa arrives with a lot of pedigree and will look to provide further ammunition to an already frightening list of offensive options in Slot's senior squad.

Most importantly, the Italian is also raring to go and looked buzzing to be signing for the club. If that passion translates to his performances on the pitch, the club's supporters will be delighted.

It has been a busy few days for the Italian winger. Liverpool moved fast after learning he was available and on the market and swooped in quickly.

Within days, Chiesa was flying over to Liverpool and undergoing a medical before putting pen to paper on a long-term deal at the club.

LFCTV has now released a video diary of Chiesa's first day at the club, which sheds light on a lot of the inside details of how his transfer went down behind the scenes.

One of the most interesting revelations from the video was Chiesa revealing that he saw Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk first at the AXA training centre.

"I saw Trent," Chiesa told Liverpool's staff. "Yeah, I saw Trent coming back, and it was maybe Virgil [Van Dijk]. They came back together."

It's interesting that the first teammates Chiesa spotted at the club are now his captain and vice-captain.

Clearly, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold keep in close quarters with both of them now part of the senior team at Liverpool.
