Liverpool's stance on Mohamed Salah transfer clarified

Fabrizio Romano has provided a firm rebuttal to rumours linking Mohamed Salah with a move away from the club this summer.

Roberto Firmino, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson have all departed the club this season to be a part of the great Saudi Arabian exodus (and to enjoy the riches associated with the Saudi Pro League), but plenty of other Liverpool stars have been linked with a move to the Middle East.

First it was Luis Diazwith a Saudi Arabian outfit said to be preparing a ludicrously small £50m offer for the winger.

Thiago Alcantara is another who has been reported to have turned down several moves in favour of staying at Anfield, and then perhaps the most high-profile is Mohamed Salah, one of the league's top targets alongside Kevin de Bruyne.

Despite the mega money that would be involved in a potential deal for the Egyptian, Salah's agent Ramy Abbas completely shot down rumours of a shock move earlier this month.

Now, just in the case of any doubt, transfer guru Romano has confirmed this stance and declared the 31-year-old as 'untouchable' to Liverpool.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said: "From what I am told the position of Liverpool is very clear. Salah is untouchable, with Fabinho and Henderson they did something special, as they allowed the players to leave. But they don’t want Mo Salah to leave."

Salah has been a revelation for Liverpool, breaking almost every record imaginable since joining back in 2017. Currently, the Egyptian sits 14th in the Premier League all-time top goal scorer list, and adding just ten more goals this season would see the winger enter the top ten.

He is already the Reds' all-time top Premier League scorer and the club's fifth highest overall. His current contract is set to expire in 2025.
