Well, going by Romano's latest update on the saga, Mane will be a Bayern player in next to no time.

The reporter has taken to Twitter to reveal that the transfer is close to completion.

Romano said: "Sadio Mane has reached full verbal agreement with Bayern on personal terms. Three-year contract ready - talks will enter into final stages with Liverpool, new bid set to be submitted.

"Liverpool are aware of his decision: Mane wants Bayern - and it's really close now."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Mane will be dearly missed at Anfield. He has been a key figure in Liverpool's team since joining the club back in 2016 (269 appearances).

After scoring against Aston Villa at Villa Park back in May, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp labelled Mane as a "machine".

โ€œHeโ€™s a machine, I told him after the game. A massive player, massive player,โ€ he told Sky Sports, as quoted by This Is Anfield.

โ€œThe physicality he has is brutal. The mix of technique, desire and then physicality.

โ€œNow (even) in the moment when everybody obviously has a few yards in the legs, like you can see it with him to be honest, (he can do this).

โ€œTop goal. Just a fantastic, world-class player.โ€

The aforementioned comments highlight that Mane offers a lot out on the football pitch. However, modern day players don't represent one club forever.

Therefore, we are used to seeing big players leave Liverpool. It has happened far too often, but, the Reds are in a really good position to deal with the loss of Mane.

Klopp has the likes of Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez at his disposal.
