Fabrizio Romano confirms Liverpool have agreed €10m fee for midfielder

Liverpool have agreed a fee with Fulham for midfielder Fabio Carvalho, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The journalist has claimed on Twitter that the Reds will pay the Championship club €10 million for the 19-year-old's services.

The plan is for Carvalho to sign a five-year deal with Liverpool before midnight (transfer deadline). However, the 19-year-old will be loaned back to Fulham for the remainder of the 2021-22 campaign.

Anfield Watch Verdict

We are delighted to hear that Liverpool have agreed terms with Fulham for Carvalho.

The midfielder is a talent. Carvalho has found the back of the net eight times and registered four assists in 25 appearances for Fulham's first-team.

Fulham boss Marco Silva is certainly a fan of the 19-year-old, which further highlights that the Reds are potentially acquiring a solid footballer.

"He's a very good player," Silva told Sky Sports back in September 2021, as quoted by OneFootball.

"I don't want to compare him to other young players I have worked with, because I have worked at clubs - like Sporting in Portugal - which have amazing academies and players that were the same age as Fabio.

"But I can say he has very good quality for the age he is, and some maturity for a player that has only just turned 19. He moved countries at a young age and had to adapt to life in England, but that has helped him grow and develop.

"He comes in every day with a smile on his face to work. He enjoys his time on the training ground, but he works really hard too.

"He understands what I want from him. It is up to him to keep working hard, and it is up to me to keep developing him as a player, because he has the talent."

We look forward to watching Carvalho represent Liverpool's first-team in the future (providing the deal goes through). On another note, we wish the youngster all the best for the remainder of the Championship season.
