Liverpool midfielder Fabinho has provided an update on his fitness.
Fabinho has not played for Liverpool since. However, the 28-year-old has confirmed that he will be fit to face Real Madrid in the Champions League final, which is taking place in Paris on the 28th of May.
"I am very calm and very confident that I will be there, so we have to keep working and resting to be at the best physical level for May 28."
“I think I can speak a little general. We are very tired. It's true because we've been playing on weekends and during the week for a month now, always game after game and important games, which makes you physically and mentally tired as well." #awlive [as] pic.twitter.com/Gh9oNTasiM
Anfield Watch Verdict
We are delighted to hear that Fabinho will be fit for the Champions League final. The reality is, the Brazilian is the only natural holding midfielder on the club's books.
Former Red Michael Owen believes Liverpool are more stable when Fabinho is playing.
"It is so comforting having him back in his right position. It is just how you want a sitting midfielder, he covers the back two."
Therefore, it is pivotal that Fabinho is fit for the final.
