Dominik Szoboszlai and Conor Bradley out as lineup to face Arsenal revealed

Dominik Szoboszlai has missed out on the squad to face Arsenal as Jurgen Klopp makes three changes from the side that beat Chelsea in midweek.

Szoboszlai did not travel with the squad to London and was therefore expected to be absent for Sunday's top-of-the-table clash, with Ryan Gravenberch filling the hole in midfield alongside Alexis Mac Allister and Curtis Jones.

Also coming into the side in Cody Gakpo, who replaces Darwin Nunez in attack - something that was foreshadowed by Klopp in his pre-match press conference on Friday, where he revealed that the Uruguayan would be a doubt to start due to injury.

The Dutchman starts alongside Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz in Liverpool's front three, while Nunez makes the bench.

Also among the substitutes is Thiago Alcantara, who hasn't featured for Liverpool since April of 2023 after undergoing surgery on his hip.

Trent Alexander-Arnold makes his first start since picking up a knee injury in this exact fixture last month - he comes in for Conor Bradley, who was originally down to play the game but sits out due to the tragic passing of his father.

Other than that the defence remains unchanged, with Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez and Alisson Becker making up the back five.

For Arsenal, Thomas Partey suffered a setback in his bid to return from a thigh injury and, as a result, misses this afternoon's game.

Gabriel Jesus is also out despite thoughts he'd overcome a knee issue, with Kai Havertz starting in his stead.

Despite their surprise exit from the Asian Cup at the hands of Iran, Liverpool's Wataru Endo and Arsenal's Takehiro Tomiyasu both miss out as they make their return from international duty with Japan.
