Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson has given his opinion on the club's 2-0 win over Everton, which took place at Anfield yesterday.

Robertson and Divock Origi scored second-half goals to ensure that the Reds secured the three Premier League points.

With five top-flight games remaining this season, Liverpool are only one-point behind league leaders Manchester City.

Post-game, Robertson hinted that the Reds got what they deserved from the Merseyside derby. The Scotland international further added that Liverpool are firmly focused on themselves in the title race.

"The derby is always a good game to play, but I believe that you get what you deserve in this league. They are in a dogfight, they know they are, they need points - if they stay up, we'll play them next season, if they don't, so be it," Robertson told beIN SPORTS, as quoted by Anfield Watch on Twitter. The 28-year-old added: "You can only focus on our games. We can't control what Man City do. They are a fantastic team, they win almost every game. We just need to focus on our games, keep picking up the three points and see where it gets us. "We just need to keep the momentum and keep churning out performances."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Liverpool were far from their best against Everton. For the most part, the Reds struggled to break down the Toffees' defence.

As Robertson said, it was always going to be a tough fixture simply because Everton are fighting relegation.

But, Jurgen Klopp's team showed their maturity in the end. It does not mater how you claim the three points at this stage of the season.

On another note, Liverpool will face Villarreal in the Champions League semi-finals on Wednesday night. The first leg, which is taking place at Anfield, will kick-off at 08:00pm.
