Development coach Vitor Matos has said that both Owen Beck and Conor Bradley could have bright futures at Liverpool as they aim to keep on progressing.
The Reds took on Shrewsbury Town on Sunday afternoon in what was a fascinating clash between an experienced League One side and a team of Premier League winners and very young footballers that Liverpool fielded.
Indeed, whilst the likes of Fabinho, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson all featured, there was also a plethora of young players turning out for Liverpool too, with several of them catching the eye.
For Matos, as well, Beck and Bradley impressed and could go on to have really good careers - with him saying that might play more first-team football in the near enough future:
“Both are having a very positive and encouraging development. They had an impressive pre-season with the first team showing that in the short-term they are ready for senior-level exposure."
Anfield Watch Verdict
This is positive news from Matos and it is always exciting to hear about the next potential Liverpool stars coming through.
The Reds have some top players in their ranks at the moment but the next generation can be just as exciting and Matos is clear in his opinion that Beck and Bradley can be at the forefront of that.
It'll be interesting to see how both develop in the coming seasons, then, but it does seem clear Liverpool rate both highly and will be looking to give them as much encouragement as possible.
