How could you not love Darwin Nuñez?

Liverpool's Chaos King may have ultimately been deemed unfit for Carabao Cup final win over Chelsea at Wembley on Sunday, but he was kicking every ball in spirit.

The 24-year-old striker scored in the 4-1 win over Brentford earlier this month, but has sat out the last two games with a fitness issue, adding to Jurgen Klopp's availability woes.

What exactly is wrong with Darwin, however, remains to be seen.

Klopp has been cagey on the specifics of the Uruguayan's injury, while the man himself looked fighting fit on Sunday, if one video is anything to go by at least.

In the aftermath of Liverpool's Carabao Cup win at Wembley, Nuñez was caught on camera leaping out of his seat alongside the Reds' other injured stars, flattening Mo Salah and knocking Curtis Jones out the way as he raced down the stars before hurdling the advertising hoardings to get onto the pitch to celebrate.

It was a moment that went viral, with Liverpool's social media team adding horse racing music to the clip which perfectly sums up everything that fans love about their lunatic of a number nine.

Now, the big man has responded to the moment.

On X (Twitter), Nunez shared the video alongside the caption 'Told you I would jump if we scored. What a game. "

Nunez's post has, at the time of writing, clocked up over 66.5k likes and more than 6k shares, with Jamie Carragher among those reacting in the replies.

Speaking post-match on Sunday, Jurgen Klopp referenced his striker's exuberant celebrations, joking: "Darwin and Dom [Szoboszlai] are obviously not fit in the moment, that’s why they didn’t play. But the celebration looked at 100 per cent let me say it like that. I’ll have to talk about that with the medical department!"

Though he wasn't involved in the final, the Carabao Cup win represented the first trophy Nunez has lifted in Europe, having previously been a runner-up in both domestic cups in Portugal during his time with Benfica.

The forward has previously won the Uruguayan Primera Division and will hope to add more honours to CV before the season is out, with the Reds chasing three more trophies in 2023/24.

We dare only imagine Darwin's reaction if we seal the quadruple.
