Darren Bent believes Liverpool have considered signing Paul Pogba

Pundit Darren Bent believes that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has considered signing Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

The Red Devils have confirmed that the Frenchman will leave the club on a free transfer at the end of June.

With that being the case, there has been plenty of talk in regards to which club Pogba will sign for.

Bent is under the impression that Klopp could be interested in bringing the 29-year-old to Anfield.

As quoted by RousingTheKop, he told talkSPORT the following: “You say Klopp and Pep (Guardiola) wouldn’t touch him, I bet they’ve probably looked at the scenario and I bet they’ve had a conversation with him.

“You know what all great managers are like, they always think that even though that player has been a problem elsewhere, I can get the best out of him.

“I can guarantee you that Pep and Klopp think they can get the best out of any player on the planet.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Pogba is a good player. The midfielder scored 39 goals and registered 51 assists in 233 appearances for Manchester United's first-team.

The aforementioned figures highlight that Pogba is someone who can score and create goals from the middle of the park.

But, the reality is, he doesn't work hard enough when he is out on the football pitch. Klopp's side play an intense brand of football.

Unless Pogba changed his attitude, he wouldn't fit into the German's team. Therefore, we doubt that Klopp has considered signing the 29-year-old.

Only time will tell where Pogba's future lies. On another note, Liverpool's pre-season will kick off with a match against Manchester United in Thailand in July. We can't wait for club football to resume.
