Danny Mills on whether Man City should make a move for Mohamed Salah

Pundit Danny Mills has given his verdict on whether Manchester City should make a move for Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah.

It has been reported that contract talks between the Egyptian international and the club are not going well. Salah believes that he deserves to be paid more than what Liverpool are currently offering him.

The 29-year-old's deal expires in the summer of 2023.

With that being the case, there is plenty of discussion surrounding Salah's future. But, even if the winger does make it clear that he wants to depart Liverpool, Mills believes that Manchester City should not make a move for him.

“He’s not the right age profile for City. They’ve got plenty of talent in those positions already,” the pundit told Football Insider.

“I’m not saying he wouldn’t get into the team but if he does then another quality player will drop out. Where does he fit into that?

“He’s an outstanding player but is that what City need? Look at (Phil) Foden, (Jack) Grealish, (Riyad) Mahrez, (Bernardo) Silva, (Raheem) Sterling.

“They’ve got an abundance of attacking options in those wide areas.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Manchester City have not genuinely been linked with a move for Salah. But, we are still concerned that they could make a move for the winger.

The reality is, Manchester City do possess money, so you can never rule anything out. If the Citizens were to sign Salah, they would almost be unstoppable.

There is no way that we could see Liverpool competing with Manchester City if they were to acquire the Egyptian international's services.

Hopefully Salah remains at Anfield. But, if he was to leave the club, hopefully he doesn't try and force a move to another Premier League team.

Seeing Liverpool play against Salah every season would be painful.
