"Big test" - Ian Wright on Arsenal's upcoming clash against Liverpool

Pundit Ian Wright has given his thoughts on Arsenal's upcoming Premier League clash against Liverpool.

The Gunners will welcome the Reds to the Emirates Stadium this Sunday.

Arsenal currently sit at the top of the Premier League table. However, Wright believes that Liverpool could cause Mikel Arteta's team a problem or two.

“Liverpool is going to be a big test,” the former Gunner told Premier League Productions (03/10/22 at 2:35pm UK time).

“We are playing against Liverpool, we saw what happened against Manchester United, a couple of mistakes and they beat them, that’s how small the margins are.

“Liverpool defensively you can see, they can be got at, but can you sustain it against that team? Because Liverpool have got the players that can offensively hurt you.

“You are at home, you should be beating this Liverpool side in the form they are in and that’s how you should approach the game.

“What I saw from Liverpool, this is the time to play them, so Arsenal, with the way they are playing, everybody is buzzing, there are no injuries really. This is the kind of game, where they have got to go, at home and beat Liverpool. If we are serious about where we want to be, and that’s top four and pushing Manchester City as far as we can.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

As we have pointed out on a number of occasions within our articles in recent weeks, Liverpool have been well off the pace so far this season.

However, the Reds did look good against Rangers at Anfield in the Champions League earlier this week.

With that being the case, Liverpool should be confident of claiming a result against the Gunners.

The reality is, all the pressure is on Arsenal. As things stand, they are right in the title race.

So, Arsenal will be looking to secure the three points against Liverpool. We are looking forward to the fixture.
