Back in the summer of 2016, Liverpool signed winger Sadio Mane from Southampton for a transfer fee of €41.20 million.
One year later, the Reds signed forward Mohamed Salah from Roma for a transfer fee of €42 million.
However, things could have turned out very differently. According to BILD, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Bayern Munich turned down the chance to sign both Mane and Salah before they joined Liverpool.
The Bundesliga club could have signed the Senegal international back in 2014. The Egyptian international on the other hand was offered to Bayern Munich between 2015-17.
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
Mane and Salah have been superb players for Liverpool. The duo have scored 245 goals between them for the Reds.
Mane and Salah have also won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and Premier League title with Liverpool.
Therefore, we are obviously delighted that they did not end up at Bayern Munich. Had Mane and Salah ended up at the Bundesliga club, it would have been hard for Liverpool to sign the duo.
Bayern Munich are a huge club, so we don't see a world where either player would have wanted to depart the Allianz Arena.
