Barcelona reportedly considering making a move for Liverpool midfielder

Barcelona are considering re-signing Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara, according to transfer insider Pedro Almeida, as cited by The Anfield Buzz's Twitter account.

Ronald Koeman was sacked as head coach of Barcelona at the backend of October. It has recently been announced that Nou Camp legend Xavi is the Dutchman's replacement.

According to Almeida, the Spaniard would like to bring Thiago back to Barcelona. Liverpool's No.6 represented the La Liga side between 2005-13.

Thiago is not a player that we want to see Liverpool sell. The reality is, the midfielder is a very talented footballer.

There is a reason why Thiago has played for some of the biggest clubs in the world (Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Liverpool).

Also, the Spaniard is only 30 years of age. Therefore, it would be fair to assume that Thiago's career is far from finished.

If Barcelona do make an offer for the midfielder, hopefully the Reds do reject the offer.

Thiago's contract does not expire until June 2024.
