Barcelona manager Xavi sets his sights on signing Liverpool's Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah's refusal to sign a new deal with Liverpool has meant that Barcelona are now interested in the Egyptian.

Mo Salah is yet to agree a new deal with Liverpool and that has opened the doors for other clubs to test the waters over a potential transfer.

Juventus have been heavily linked with a move for Salah this past week as they look to add a world-class winger to their squad.

However, another club has now entered the fray for Salah's signature next summer. Barcelona.

The Catalonian club, who recently signed a new sponsorship deal with Spotify, have some money to spend and they're wasting no time going for some of the best players in the world.

According to Spanish journalists Fernando Polo and Sergi Solé, as cited by LFC Transfer Room, they claim that Mo Salah is the forward that Xavi likes the most, if they're excluding Erling Haaland - the coach really likes the Egyptian's profile.

The report also says that the Egyptian ‘gains numbers’ within the sporting area, something that Barcelona are very interested in.

Finally, the Spanish reporters state that Romelu Lukaku and Robert Lewandowski are also on Barca's radar.

Anfield Watch Verdict

Barcelona look set to sign at least one marquee player next season. Haaland has been heavily linked with the Catalonians but it looks like Manchester City and Real Madrid have pulled ahead of them in the race for his signature.

Lewandowski would also be a good option as his contract ends at the backend of next season but he is 33-years-old and not one for the future.

If Barcelona do want to sign Salah then they're going to have to fork out at least £100m as he's the best player in world football at the moment.

Hopefully, the Reds can agree a deal with the Egyptian but if not then the club may be forced to cash in on him before he leaves for free.
