Arne Slot REQUESTS two names Liverpool should sign for his new-look team

Arne Slot has asked Liverpool for some players this summer - and two of his names are reportedly now public.

CaughtOffside reports that Arne Slot has made some transfer requests of Liverpool. The Dutchman is widely expected to take over as Jurgen Klopp's successor.

In fact, Slot has publicly talked about Liverpool's approach and admits he wants it finalised. It would certainly be a shock if things didn't go through at this stage.

Things have gone as far as Slot being able to request transfer targets, it seems. CaughtOffside say there's a shortlist of sorts, and have even mentioned two names on it.

Both will be familiar to those who keep up with transfer rumours.

The first is Goncalo Inacio of Sporting CP. He's been a name linked with Liverpool for around a year now and he's certainly expected to leave Sporting this summer as interest in him skyrocketed this season.

He wouldn't exactly come cheap, though, and Liverpool feel a lot less likely to get him now they're chasing Slot and not Sporting boss Ruben Amorim.

The other name is Willian Pacho. He's another name you see a lot of right now after a wonderful season at Eintracht Frankfurt. There's even been talk that Liverpool could sign Pacho and immediately loan him back to Frankfurt in order to get him signed up.

It's an interesting one as both players are centre-backs. Joel Matip's expiring contract essentially forces some sort of signing at centre-back.

But two major ones? Perhaps Pacho would arrive a year later but it would still be an enormous investment in one position.

It may be that Slot sees it as the problem area, though. Liverpool concede in nearly every game, admittedly, and have a ridiculous record of conceding first.

Fixing that would go a long way to ensuring Slot has a first good season in charge - and that appears to be the idea here.
