A 'brilliant' Liverpool youngster has earned a promotion to Arne Slot's first team squad during the international break.

Things have started stupendously well for Arne Slot at Anfield. Liverpool are off to a perfect start in the Premier League and have played some entertaining football.

Slot has also been able to get the best out of all of his players, with plenty of them thriving at the moment.

One thing we haven't seen too much from the Dutchman is his work with Liverpool's youngsters. Slot has preferred to use more established first team players with the Reds playing just one game a week.

But that could be about to change.

Liverpool youngster Tom Hill promoted to first team

One Liverpool youngster who has been in great form this season is the club's U21 captain, Tom Hill.

The 21-year-old has registered an assist and scored a goal in Liverpool's opening two Premier League 2 games.

Predominantly, playing as a central midfielder, Hill has already made his debut for Liverpool's first team squad back in the League Cup in a 5-0 defeat to Aston Villa, where the Reds were practically forced to field their U21 side with Jurgen Klopp's first team having to fly out to the Club World Cup.

At the time, that appearance officially ranked Hill among Liverpool's youngest players in the club's history.

Since then Hill has battled back from a serious ACL injury and even made the bench in the Europa League against Union SG last season.

And while he was not in the first-team squad during pre-season, Slot has seemingly elevated his status with Hill being named in Liverpool's Champions League squad.

That is a promotion the Liverpool youngster will be very happy about.

Hill has been at the club since U6 level and has climbed through the youth ranks, captaining both the Reds' U18 and U21 teams.

He is eligible to play for the Republic of Ireland, England and Wales. Although, he has so far only featured for the latter's youth national team - making his debut against Czechia's U21 side last year.

In the past, Liverpool's U21 manager, Barry Lewtas, has hailed Hill's mentality as 'brilliant' after having battled through his injury problems to return to the side.

"He is a great kid, works ever so hard and heā€™s dealt with the real lows and blows that have come his way brilliantly," Lewtas told Liverpool's official club site.

"We need to ease him back in and get him going but he can be a really important player for us this season. Iā€™m sure he wants to kickstart his career now and it was a lovely finish, which is what he is known for.

"He could have had a second as well and he makes some great runs into the box, so itā€™s nice to see heā€™s not lost that identity."
