"An absolute phenomenon" - Gary Neville's praise for Jurgen Klopp

Former Manchester United full-back Gary Neville has waxed lyrical about Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

The German joined the Reds back in October 2015. Since then, Liverpool have won the Champions League, Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, Premier League title, League Cup, FA Cup and Community Shield.

So, we weren't surprised to hear Neville recently praise Klopp.

He said the following on his podcast: “Jurgen Klopp is an absolute phenomenon, but I think to myself where would Jurgen Klopp go now that you think would be better for him than Liverpool Football Club in the way in which the Premier League is dominating?

“He has played in Champions League finals, he is competing against the other best managers in the world that are here at the moment. So, at the moment, I don’t believe that’s fair, I don’t believe that’s right.”

Neville further added: “It looks like he is enjoying his time at Anfield too much to me, he enjoys the football, he enjoys the league, I think he enjoys Liverpool fans, and it would be wishful thinking of Manchester United fans to think that Jurgen Klopp was leaving, and I don’t think that’s the case.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Neville is spot on in his assessment of Klopp. The man is a world-class manager.

The German has been the best thing that has happened to Liverpool in quite some time.

Klopp gave everyone associated with the club a bit of hope. As we have pointed out, success steadily followed.

The 55-year-old is contracted until the conclusion of the 2025-26 campaign. So, Klopp won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

Hopefully the German can help the club win a few more trophies before he eventually departs.

But, only time will tell if that is to be the case.
