Alexis Mac Allister has everyone raving about him after his starring role in Liverpool’s 2-1 Premier League win over Brighton on Sunday. The Argentine is becoming invaluable.

Liverpool beat Brighton on Sunday as Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah bagged to turn the game around. The Reds went 1-0 down almost instantly but fought back for a vital win against something of a bogey team for Jurgen Klopp's side.

And despite not scoring either of the goals, it was Alexis Mac Allister who stole the show. Mac Allister was imperious on the day, putting in a Man of the Match display and setting up Salah's winner.

His display was so good, in fact, that he has praise heading his way from all corners. Here's a roundup of what people are saying about Mac Allister.

Jurgen Klopp

"I saw a lot of special performances today," said Jurgen Klopp after the game. "Yes, Macca was incredible – absolutely incredible – but when you have that kind of talent when you have that kind of character, then you should show it."

Roberto De Zerbi

"I think he became a great, great player," De Zerbi said of Mac Allister after Brighton’s defeat. "The assist for the second goal was incredible.

"I’m happy, I’m proud for him because I worked with him he deserves to be an important player in a big team."

Jamie Carragher

“This is all down to Mac Allister, who has been the best player on the pitch by a mile. When the game’s been frantic, he’s been the man with the cool head,” he said on Sky Sports after Salah's goal.

Alan Shearer

"Mac Allister was no doubt the most outstanding player on the pitch, he was incredible," said Shearer on Match of the Day.

"Everything that was good about Liverpool went through Mac Allister. His passing was superb, his confidence was unbelievable, [he had] the flicks and tricks.

"He was driving his team forward on so many occasions. He was absolutely magnificent."

Roy Keane

“He is a smart footballer, I’ll tell you that," said Keane on Sky Sports. "I’m usually impressed with him and his decision-making.”

Conor Bradley

"He's just an unbelievable footballer," Bradley told Liverpoolfc.com. "I've never seen someone retain the ball so well. He's so calm on the ball and he's so composed.

"He's just a wonderful footballer and he's a joy to play with. I can't praise him enough, to be honest."

Garth Crooks in his Team of the Week

"The ball by Mac Allister for Mohamed Salah to score Liverpool's winner in the 2-1 victory against Brighton was nothing short of world-class," wrote Crooks.

"The Argentine midfielder did something similar for Darwin Nunez to snatch a last-gasp win against Nottingham Forest earlier in the season so there is no doubt about his quality.

"It is never easy playing against your old team-mates but Mac Allister did not let the occasion get to him and produced some sparkling football."
