Liverpool star confirms he is STAYING at Anfield

Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are the headliners. All three are out of contract on June 30th, allowing them to walk away for free.

There you've got Darwin Nunez, the subject of a massive offer from Saudi Arabia. Ibrahima Konate has Paris Saint-Germain knocking on his door, while Luis Diaz's contract situation could become difficult.

Yes, another one of those.

And that's not even it! Alisson Becker will enter the final year of his contract and Joe Gomez almost left in 2024. Expect more uncertainty around his future in 2025.

But while none of these players can be certain of their future, one Liverpool star has given an emphatic confirmation that he's staying.

Federico Chiesa wants to stay

It's been a difficult, difficult start to life at Liverpool for Federico Chiesa. The Italian arrived on the cheap from Juventus and with much excitement.

But injuries and fitness issues, mainly the latter, have left him on the sidelines. We simply haven't seen much of him in a Liverpool shirt - and that's been a massive shame.

It naturally led to speculation that he could leave, too. Napoli are in the market for a winger and Chiesa is supposedly on their shortlist.

But he doesn't wish to go anywhere.

“I want to play for Liverpool!" he said after the 3-2 defeat to PSV Eindhoven this week. "I want to be here, I want to do my best for this club.

“I'm enjoying being at the club, Liverpool is one of the biggest clubs in the world… and the fanbase is amazing. Playing at Anfield gives me shivers”.

Chiesa is staying, then. Expect no late departure to Napoli or elsewhere - he's a part of this squad as it chases major trophies.

We're excited about that prospect, too, as Chiesa was sharp against PSV. If he can fully click in this Liverpool team - and it's still an 'if', unfortunately - then he could well be the difference between a good season and a truly magnificent one.
