EXCLUSIVE: 'I think' Liverpool get major Alexander Isak update
Alexander Isak has become a fascination for many Liverpool supporters as reports continue to link the Swede with a summer Anfield switch.
The 25-year-old is enjoying the best season of his career and is widely regarded as one of the best strikers in world football.

The Reds are gearing up for a huge summer overhaul, with a number of high-profile players expected to depart as exclusively revealed by Anfield Watch earlier this year.
Inevitably, Liverpool have been linked with a mammoth deal for Isak and many supporters are left wondering how the Swede would fit in at Anfield – and if a deal can actually be done.
How would Isak fit in at Anfield?
On the Anfield Watch YouTube channel Swedish football writer Maxi Angelo spoke in detail about Isak and how the Swede might fit in at Anfield.
You can watch the full interview here.
“He’s fast. He has a great technique,” Angleo told Anfield Watch. “One thing I think is very underrated with his game is that he’s very smart – he’s very perceptive of what’s going on around him and he’s very smart on the ball.”
Isak’s quality is clear to see for anyone who watches Premier League football, but supporters may be less familiar with his exploits while on international duty.

“In the national team, [Jon Dahl Tomasson] – which is the national team manager of Sweden – he’s played him as a number 10 quite a few times because he thinks [Isak] can fill that role very well,” Angelo explained.
Although Isak is not being targeted for the no.10 position, versatility is a quality that Liverpool hold in very high esteem – especially for their forwards – and Isak’s ability to play deeper only makes him a more appealing option for Richard Hughes and Arne Slot.
Isak is on ‘another level’
Newcastle’s no.14 has scored 24 goals and provided five assists so far this season, a career best return, and this has boosted his profile – earning him recognition as one of Europe’s best forwards.
“He’s a goalscoring machine … he’s taking it to another level now in Newcastle.”
Although Isak has become a prolific forward under Eddie Howe, he would offer a lot more than just goals to Liverpool.

“I think that Isak would kind of be more of a linking forward. At Liverpool you can see it whether you sign Isak or not, you adapt to play to Mohamed Salah because he’s the big star and the best player.
“I think you have to play to your best players’ strength, and I think Isak would do a great job with that.”
Slot’s side are already the best in the league, and they are within touching distance of the Premier League trophy, but Isak could take the Reds to another level.
How likely is Isak to Liverpool?
Every Red will know that the media in England have been talking up a potentially record-breaking deal that could see the Swede head to Merseyside but reports back in the strikers homeland haven’t quite reached that level yet.
“There hasn’t been any talk about this in Sweden, everything we hear comes from the English media,” Angelo explained.
“I think the general consensus here is that it will be tough for Liverpool to sign him because of the fee that Newcastle will be asking for, historically Liverpool haven’t paid that kind of fee for anyone.”
The fee Newcastle are demanding varies from report to report, but a figure somewhere between £120m and £150m has been the most widely discussed.
This would represent a record outlay for Liverpool but deals for Virgil van Dijk and Alisson proved that the Reds are not afraid to break records to sign players.
Although there isn’t a sense that a deal is close yet, Angelo did sum up that the general feeling in Sweden would be positive if Isak moved to Anfield.
“It would be fantastic to see him play at an even bigger club.”
