Anfield Watch revealed exclusively that Richard Hughes is making big plans ahead of the summer transfer window.
EXCLUSIVE: Liverpool ready to strike deal with Colombian contract rebel
These plans involved the potential departure of Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz.
With Saudi sides admirers of both Nunez and Diaz, there is a strong possibility at least two of the Reds' attackers could leave for pastures new.
If that happens, Liverpool could more than likely sanction a big money move for a player in Isak who is exactly what Arne Slot's team needs and who could have a transformational impact on the Reds.
Alexander Isak's move to Liverpool is inevitable
Isak has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool and he has made his thoughts clear about what it's like to play at Anfield as well.
From the moment he arrived in the Premier League, Isak has been destined to play for the Reds. He made his mark by scoring against Liverpool on his debut in a 2-1 defeat at Anfield.
Since then he has made four goal contributions in five games against Liverpool, always standing out against the Reds. Most notably at Anfield where he has a 100% record when it comes to goal-scoring, netting in both of his two previous appearances so far.
Any other year and signing someone like Isak who is by far and away the best striker in the Premier League would be out of the question for Liverpool.
But this time around it's different. Liverpool have not spent a lot of money over the last couple of seasons. Even though they clearly had the funds, just take the Moises Caicedo bid as an example.
Instead, Liverpool have been preparing for this summer. Preparing for an overhaul and that means there should be enough funds in the kitty for Hughes to sanction a mega deal for Isak.
Newcastle won't let him go on the cheap. He has a contract until 2028 and Liverpool will have to pay a handsome fee to get him.
But Newcastle unlike Liverpool have a limited budget due to the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR). Therefore, a big sale might be a smart option for them.
Selling Isak for a lot of money allows Newcastle to invest that money all over the squad and become stronger as a result. The truth is Newcastle are not at the level where they can expect to keep a hold of their best players.
They need to continue to build the team and with the new PSR rules that means sometimes they have to sell before they can buy.
Sometimes, they even have to sell their best players, it's simply inevitable.
Isak won't be at the club forever and moving to Anfield is the perfect next destination.
Under Slot, the Swedish international could form a special partnership with the likes of Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah (assuming he stays).

utterly fucking delusional
How many players are going to get sold to get isak ? We don't have enough midfielders or defenders, even though we've been talking about reinforcing those areas for nearly 3 years.. If TAA and vvd go we are fucked
Delusional. Can't afford him. Newcastle United/City/Villa will also be free of the Premier League illegal sponsorship laws, expect their revenue to increase substantially..
We can but dream. Can we afford him? Probably. Diaz to Barca for 50m Jota somewhere for 40. Nunez might go, probably 50m. Yeah, we need to replace Robbo and a couple of other players but if we win the league and get to the champions league latter stages, maybe win it, we'd have the dosh. Plus....Mo's contract is huge so if he goes, there's 20m freed up in wages.
