Erling Haaland's agent has been in touch with Liverpool for a surprise transfer.

No, it's not for the Norwegian superstar. That ship has well and truly sailed. The Reds could have signed Haaland many years ago but with his pedigree as Manchester City's biggest stars, that's a move simply not feasible.

And let's be honest, it's probably a deal Liverpool wouldn't want to make even if it was feasible. Haaland would demand extortionate wages and he's not exactly the type of striker who would flourish in Arne Slot's system.

That type of striker is more mobile, flexible and fluid in his movements.

It's the kind of striker Richard Hughes is hoping to sign in the upcoming transfer window in order to once and for all replace Darwin Nunez this summer.

And it's perhaps with that in mind that Haaland's agent has approached the Reds about the prospect of a transfer for a surprise player.

Stop EVERYTHING: Harry Kane wants to join Liverpool

Erling Haaland's agent approaches Liverpool

Haaland's agent is of course Rafaela Pimenta, who took over from the late Mino Raiola. She represents a number of other clients and according to Football Transfers, she recently approached Liverpool to offer up Moussa Sylla to the Reds.

That seems like an ambitious move. Sylla is 25-years-old and he is currently playing in 2.Bundesliga for Schalke.

However, it seems like Pimenta seems to think he has great potential in the game and could be ready to make the leap even higher in the coming years.

Right now, Sylla has 13 goals in 19 appearances in the league for Schalke, which is an impressive output for a forward who is also capable of playing on the wing.

But these aren't exactly the numbers you need to make a move to Liverpool.

Perhaps if FSG had a multi-club model in place which is one of the reasons why Michael Edwards was brought back, this could be a move to make for whoever Liverpool's feeder club would end up becoming.

But right now, a move for Sylla doesn't make any sense.

A different destination would be a lot better for him to continue to play regular minutes.

Liverpool meanwhile need more high profile forwards in order to rejuvenate Slot's options.

For that another Pimenta client who has already worked with Slot in the past might be a much better option in Santiago Gimenez.

But he's just joined AC Milan during the January transfer window, so that move is probably out of the question this summer.

Liverpool will need to look elsewhere.

But it doesn't mean Liverpool can't do business with Pimenta in the future. She has some exciting young clients under her name like Sverre Nypan and Andreas Schjelderup, who have both been on the Reds' radar in the past.
